Skylar Grey shares that Eminem planted a big kiss on her after their Grammy performance!

Skylar Grey reveals that following their Grammy performance, Eminem gave her a big kiss!

The songs “Love The Way You Lie (Part 2)” and “I Need A Doctor” were performed by Eminem, Rihanna, Dr. Dre, Skylar Grey, and Adam Levine during the 53rd annual Grammy Awards in 2011.

Eminem gave Skylar Grey a big kiss to soothe her after she expressed dissatisfaction with her performance a few days before. On Instagram, Skylar posted a brief video of the performance along with the following caption:

“I dreamed about being on that stage since I was a child,” she added, describing it as the most strange event in her career as a performer. Em looked really happy with the performance and gave me a huge kiss on the cheek after we left the stage. But I felt like I didn’t sing well, so I shut myself in my dressing room and sobbed! I’ll always be harsh on myself, but I suppose that’s what keeps me going.

The singer has previously recalled the bizarre period of her career. “The most amazing thing for me with this was getting to perform at the Grammys with Dr. Dre and Eminem (‘I Need A Doctor’) when Rihanna opened up our medley with ‘Love The Way You Lie,'” said Skylar Grey in the Genius annotation. That was a truly unique time in my life.

The cinematic song “I Need A Doctor” describes Eminem and Dr. Dre’s relationship. Alex da Kid produced the song, which was originally intended to be part of the ethereal Dre album DETOX. In the song, Em raps on Dre’s depression and grief, which have left him creatively stuck and unable to create music the way he once could. Em, who experienced this firsthand with the death of his best buddy in 2006, is fervently trying to reach Dre in hopes that he may regain confidence in his own skills.

With more nominations than any other artist that night at the Grammys, Eminem won Best Rap Solo Performance for “Not Afraid,” defeating Drake’s “Over,” Ludacris’ “How Low,” T.I.’s “I’m Back,” and Kanye West’s “Power.” He also won Best Rap Album for Recovery, defeating B.o.B.’s “The Adventures Of Bobby Ray,” Drake’s “Thank Me Later,” Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint 3,” and The Roots’ “How I Got Over.”
