Netanyahu of Israel responds to Trump’s threat of “hell to pay” if Hamas fails to release the captives.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, claims that President-elect Donald Trump is in the “right place” on his threat of “hell to pay” if Hamas doesn’t free its last hostages.

At the start of a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Netanyahu stated, “President Trump put the emphasis in the right place, on Hamas, and not on the Israeli government, as is customary [elsewhere],” according to Reuters.

Trump demanded on Monday that Hamas free all hostages before his inauguration on January 20.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that since October 7, 2023, when Hamas struck Israel, killing over 1,100 people and kidnapping at least 250 more, nothing has been done to release those detained by the Iran-backed terrorist organization. Seven of the 101 hostages still in Gaza are Americans.

According to the IDF, an American-Israeli platoon commander was killed in combat and his body was held in Gaza.

“Everybody is talking about the hostages who are being held so violently, inhumanely, and against the will of the entire World, in the Middle East – But it’s all talk, and no action!” Trump wrote.

“Please let this TRUTH serve to represent that if the hostages are not released prior to January 20, 2025, the date that I proudly assume Office as President of the United States, there will be ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East, and for those in charge who perpetrated these atrocities against Humanity,” Trump stated.

Hamas terrorists continue to hold seven US hostages.

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich also endorsed the message.

“This is the way to bring back the hostages: by increasing the pressure and the costs for Hamas and its supporters, and defeating them, rather than giving in to their absurd demands,” according to Reuters.
