Mike Tyson gets too real with 14-year-old interviewer, talks of death and nothingness

The former champion gave young Jazlyn Guerra some comically depressing responses when asked what legacy he wished to leave behind: “I’m going to die and it’s going to be over…. Simply put, we’re dead. We’re just dust.

When a teenage girl asked former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson a simple, sentimental inquiry on Thursday, he gave her a startlingly depressing response about death and eternal nothingness.

The shocking remarks were made during Tyson’s series of interviews in advance of his highly anticipated fight with YouTuber Jake Paul, which will take place in Arlington, Texas on Friday and be available to stream on Netflix.

The unflinching Tyson described how short and seemingly pointless roaming this earth could be when asked what kind of “legacy” he wanted to leave behind by 14-year-old Jazlyn Guerra, the young journalist at Jazzys World TV.

“I do not use the term ‘legacy.'” That’s another word for ego, I believe. Legacy is not meaningless. Everyone just caught on to that word. In an interview published on Thursday, Tyson stated, “Everyone picked up on that word when it was said, and it’s now used every five seconds.”

“To me, it means nothing at all. I’m simply stopping by. It’s going to end when I pass away. After that, who gives a damn about legacy?

Iron Mike paused awkwardly for a moment, then resumed his depressingly existential thoughts.

“I will therefore die. He went on, “I want people to think that I’m this, I’m great.” “No, we don’t exist. Simply put, we’re dead. We are nothing more than dust. We are nothing at all. Nothing remains of our heritage.

Tyson’s severe outlook on life seemed to momentarily surprise the teenage interviewer. However, she remained calm, didn’t stray from her path, and thanked the champion for his insight.

“Well thank you so much for sharing that,” she replied. “That is something that I have not heard before.”

Tyson would not stop pounding home the point that mankind is running out of time.

“Is it possible for someone to say, ‘This is how I want my legacy to be?'” You’ve passed away. “I said,” Tyson said. “When I’m gone, who the f— gives a damn about me? Perhaps my children or grandchildren?”

During the 1980s and 1990s, Tyson was one of the most feared boxers. His most well-known act, however, may have been spent three years in prison following his conviction for rape and biting off a portion of Evander Holyfield’s ear during a 1997 match.

Paul, 27, is a relatively novice boxer, having entered the ring for the first time in 2020. He has about 21 million YouTube subscribers and over 27 million Instagram followers.
