Jose De la Torre Netflix star tragically dies aged 37

Sadly, a Netflix performer who battled a “serious illness” died at the age of 37.

José de la Torre was well-known for playing Iván in the popular Netflix series Toy Boy.

According to the New York Post, the Spanish actor passed away on Thursday, December 5, only a few months after disclosing that he was suffering from a “serious illness.”

Montilla Digital broke the story first, confirming that de la Torre’s funeral was held in his birthplace of Montilla, which is in the Córdoba Province of Spain, on Friday, December 6.

The Parish of San Francisco Solano served as the venue for the ceremony.

De la Torre said in June that he had been diagnosed with a “serious illness,” albeit the cause of death has not been made public.

He started treatment at that point and decided to keep his distance from the public to concentrate on getting better.

On June 3, De la Torre uploaded happy photos from his trip to the Canary Islands in a touching post that marked his final public appearance on social media.

The actor seemed to be in a good mood while visiting the five-day event, Desalia.

He captioned the photo with, “The joy of reaching the Canary Islands, seeing your friends, getting a mojito, and singing until your voice breaks.” “Desalia 2024 was that year.”

“And that’s thanks to the team behind @ronbarcelospain who goes above and beyond every year,” he added in appreciation of the event planners.

Social media was inundated with tributes from friends, coworkers, and admirers when his passing was announced.
