Jennifer Lawrence, star of the Hunger Games film franchise, may have garnered attention for her more dramatic performance in No Hard Feelings, but that was a little more staged than her 2018 thriller. The director of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and both Mockingjay films, Francis Lawrence, collaborated with Jennifer once more on Red Sparrow, and since its premiere, Jennifer has talked about an uncomfortable moment.
Jennifer plays Dominika Egorova, a former ballerina who is now a Russian spy and who strategically uses her body to attack men, in the 2018 thriller.
Jennifer’s character is told to remove all of her clothing in front of a crowded room in one of the most talked-about moments in the film at the time.
This is what her character is told to do in order to show off how strong her physique is.
“The reality of shooting them is so different from watching,” Jennifer stated at a press conference about filming her nude scenes in Red Sparrow.
“Francis is almost like a father figure to me and the camera guys I’ve known since I was a little child,” she continued. “It was almost like being in a nude house,” she thought.
“Such as those families who strip in front of one another.”
“That’s how it felt,” she added.
