Jake Paul wins Netflix boxing match against Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson lost to Jake Paul by unanimous decision following eight boxing rounds that lasted two minutes apiece.

Tyson started the battle strong, but as it progressed, Paul gained confidence and began to dominate the 58-year-old, throwing more strikes at Iron Mike as the rounds continued.

As the age difference was brought to boxing fans’ attention, Paul appeared to have dominated by the finish. According to Netflix, the 27-year-old landed 78 punches from 278 thrown (28 percent), while Tyson only landed 18 punches from 97 thrown (18 percent).

As the fight progressed, both fans and analysts were positive of the result, and after Tyson won rounds one and two according to Netflix’s unofficial score sheets, Paul won the following six.Eight rounds were fought between the two (TIMOTHY A. CLARY/AFP via Getty Images)

As the battle was streamed live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, millions of people watched it on Netflix.

Paul’s organization, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), organized the first-ever boxing event for Netflix. The event featured eight fights, all of which took place in the middle of the Dallas Cowboys stadium.

when millions of fans at home were treated—or jump-scared—by Tyson’s nude a** in his locker room after a pre-fight interview, some viewers have already experienced streaming issues when attempting to watch the bout tonight.

It was originally canceled because Tyson, 58, experienced severe health issues while flying, but it was rescheduled from July 20.

Paul, 27, earned $40 million (£31.1 million) from the bout, while Tyson earned about $20 million (£15.4 million).

The rules for the battle were different from those of regular professional fights approved by boxing federations, with eight rounds instead of the customary twelve, two-minute rounds instead of three-minute rounds, and gloves weighing 14 ounces instead of 10 (Sarah Stier/Getty Images for Netflix).

Paul had a perfect record of 10-1 going into the match, having only lost to Tommy Fury. Iron Mike had a 50-6-2 record and hadn’t competed professionally in 20 years.
