The 2025 Golden Globes nominee list demonstrates that the 82nd annual ceremony will have a stellar cast of talents.
The nominees, which recognize achievements in both film and television, were revealed by Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut on Monday, December 9.
On Sunday, January 5, Nikki Glaser will host the awards presentation for the first time. In an August press release, the 40-year-old comedian described the performance as “an exciting yet challenging gig because it’s live, unpredictable, and in front of Hollywood’s biggest stars.”
“In previous Golden Globes opening monologues, Tina [Fey], Amy [Poehler], or Ricky [Gervais] have said exactly what we all didn’t know we desperately needed to hear,” she added, adding that some of her favorite jokes ever came from those speeches. “All I want is to carry on with that ancient custom, which could also result in my termination.” This is a job of a lifetime. In addition, I no longer have to feel bad about binge-watching every TV series and movie I’ve seen in the last 12 months. It was all worthwhile.

Since its inception in 1944, the Golden Globes have experienced a number of modifications. After celebrities skipped the 2022 celebration because of a 2021 Los Angeles Times story that showed there were no Black members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the group of journalists in charge of bestowing the Golden Globes at the time.
The HFPA folded the next year after Dick Clark Productions purchased the Golden Globes and CBS agreed to broadcast the awards presentation going forward, despite the organization’s pledge to diversify its membership and the Golden Globes’ 2023 return to NBC with A-list celebrities in attendance.
