Now, for a long time, actor Elliot Page has been well-known among LGBTQ+ fans.
and has been a community advocate for a long time.
However, he enhanced his legacy even more on December 1st, 2020.
In an online post, Elliot came out as transgender.
They started the extremely intimate essay by saying: “Hey buddies, I would want to inform you that I am Elliot, a transgender person, and that I use the pronouns he/they. Writing this makes me feel fortunate. to be present.
“I am incredibly grateful to all of the amazing people who have helped me along the way.”
“There are no words to describe how amazing it feels to at last love who I am enough to pursue my true self.”
“There are so many people in the trans community who have inspired me tremendously. We appreciate your bravery, kindness, and unwavering efforts to create a more compassionate and inclusive world. He stated, “I will continue to work toward a more loving and equal society and offer whatever support I can.”
“I’m proud to be transgender. And I’m proud to be queer. And the more I cherish myself and accept myself completely, the more I dream, the more my heart expands, and the more I flourish. I see you, I love you, and I will do all in my power to improve the lives of all transgender persons who face daily harassment, self-loathing, abuse, and the danger of violence.
Then, as he adjusts to his new persona, he requested “patience.”
He added, “My joy is real, but it is also fragile. The truth is, even though I am feeling incredibly happy right now and am aware of how fortunate I am, I am also afraid.”
“The intrusiveness, hatred, “jokes,” and violence frighten me. To be clear, I want to discuss the whole picture rather than try to damper a happy and celebratory occasion.
Fans naturally started applauding Page and lending their support right away.
Page’s choice to come out as trans obviously struck a chord with a lot of people.
For several months after that, the actor stayed to himself.
Even so, it made headlines throughout the world when he filed for divorce from his wife, Emma Portner.
After coming out, Page did his first interview in March 2021.
Page talked candidly about his early years and coming out as transgender for Time magazine.
“I expected a great deal of love and support, but I also expected a great deal of hate and transphobia.” That’s pretty much what took place. I had a boyish feeling. My desire was to be a boy. If I could be someday, I would ask my mother.
The actor then talked candidly about his desire to have top surgery.
He clarified that having surgery “has completely transformed my life,” but he also underlined that being trans isn’t only about it.
“We are aware of who we are. Because it helps them feel safe, individuals cling to these rigid notions [about gender]. “It’s a difficult journey and a continuous process, but if we could just celebrate all the wonderful complexities of people, the world would be so much better,” Page added.
Additionally, Page participated in an open interview with Oprah Winfrey that was shown on Apple TV.
Page talked about the difficulties he’s had since coming out as transgender and the impending interview with Vanity Fair.
First, Page talked about how he felt different after coming out as transgender.
“The most significant difference is that I’m really able to just exist,” the actor said, adding that they are now more at ease with who they are.
They added that they felt “present” now.
Page talked about his profession and how things have changed as the interview went on.
They mentioned that it might affect their acting because they feel more at ease, but he wasn’t certain how their job would change in the future.
In response to conversations about creativity, Page said that transphobia prevents people from expressing their creativity:
“So many people are excluded by transphobia in our society. Consider all the people who are denied the opportunity to prosper, to have a future, or to share their magic with us.
The actor continued by admitting that his experience is distinct, but he also talked about their previous feelings on their identity.
“I was a boy when I was a tiny child, 100% of the time. When I was a toddler, I realized I was a boy. I was signing fictitious love letters with “Jason.” That’s who I was, who I am, and who I knew myself to be in every little part of my life,” he said.
“When I was told, ‘No, you’re not,’ I simply couldn’t comprehend.” No, as you get older, you can’t be that. You sense it. There is a certain sadness to it, but it’s so lovely and remarkable that I’m finally feeling like who I am again.
Despite the fact that Page’s path has been lengthy and challenging…
The performer appears to be at last in the position they have always desired.
Additionally, Page recently declared that he is feeling better than ever at this stage of his life and that attending the Oscars in a suit was a “joyful moment.”
And hearing it makes people very pleased.
In an interview with Trans Week, Page talked candidly about wearing a suit to the Oscars.
Page characterized it as “really special,” according to UNILAD.
According to the publication, he stated, “In the more specific ways, it’s wearing a suit last night [at the Academy Awards].”
“As you look at a photograph, it’s really cool to see yourself for the first time — or the person you already saw but here they are, like, they’re f*****g emerging.” “All those things are really special, wonderful, joyful moments.”
He’s feeling “the best I’ve ever felt,” Page continued.
“I am aware of the difficulties I have faced and the difficulties I have faced,” he added, adding that he feels “in a way that I really never thought was possible.”
“From therapy to my surgery and so many other things in between, the immense privilege and resources I’ve had absolutely, unequivocally saved my life.”
“Just the degree that I can feel present now, just the fact that I can be in a place without this constant underlying anxiety or a sense that I have to run.”
Page has talked candidly about how happy he is to see himself again after transitioning.
“I can’t overstate the biggest joy, which is really seeing yourself,” Page stated in a recent Teen Vogue interview. I’m just beginning to look like myself, even though I know that I appear different to other people.
Because I’m simply like, there I am, it’s indescribable. And give thanks to God. I’m here.
“It’s just waking up, making my coffee, sitting down with a book, and being able to read that gives me euphoria,” he added.
“I realize it may sound odd, but I cannot emphasize enough how uncomfortable and difficult I was feeling, and how it interfered with everything. Why wouldn’t it?
“I’m proud to be transgender. And I’m proud to be queer. And the more I cherish myself and accept myself completely, the more I dream, the more my heart expands, and the more I flourish. He concluded by saying, “To all the trans people who face daily violence threats, abuse, self-loathing, and harassment: I see you, I love you, and I will do everything in my power to improve this world.”
However, regrettably, despite the overwhelming amount of support Page has received…
Additionally, he has encountered “unfortunate” negativity.
And he has dealt with it.
On Late Night with Seth Meyers, the celebrity did just that.
The actor told Meyers that he tries to concentrate on the positive aspects of his life, even if there has been a lot of negative.
“I think it’s one of those situations where it’s very bad because, you know, we’re all on the same team here. “Whether you’re cis, transgender, or gender nonconforming,” he stated.
“Due to people’s fixation with the binary and how we’re all supposed to live our lives, we all have these expectations, and these, sort of, limits and constraints,” he added.
“I want to concentrate on the level of joy and presence I experience, which has been so amazing and something I never truly believed was possible for a very long time. That’s what I’m embracing and concentrating on,” Page said.
Who wouldn’t want to concentrate on that?
Page remarked, “I feel a way that I really never thought possible.”
It has made a huge difference in my life. And I hope—you know—that those who do disagree with me could try to hear that or accept it on some level,” he said in closing.
He revealed that he’s prepared to resume dating.
This time, downloading an app for internet dating.
He posted a story on Instagram to share the joyful news.
Ritu Arya, who plays Lila Pitts in the series, is his co-star from Umbrella Academy, and it appears like she helped him out a little.
As Arya demonstrates the ropes to him, they are both seen lying next to one another in the adorable photo.
wrote, “Ritu Arya guiding me on my first dating app ever,” as the description for the photo.
He filed for divorce from his wife, Emma Portner, eighteen months prior to this.
The two have stayed friends, though.
Page appears to be seeing someone new.
Fans believe the two are more than just pals as they walked the red carpet together with Mae Martin. Martin, a Canadian comedian and actor, is best known for his roles in the Netflix series “Feel Good” and Kaley Cuoco’s television series “The Flight Attendant.”
Martin donned a blue and black suit without a tie, while Page wore a double-breasted black suit with a bow tie.
Together, they appeared to be grinning with confidence.
Martin’s Instagram post, in which they called Page “My King,” confirmed relationship rumors via
“My King @elliotpage took me out,” said the caption of the toilet selfie of the two of them. We appreciate @lacma for the beautiful evening and @Gucci for the suit.
The hashtag #t4t, which stands for “trans for trans” and usually denotes a transgender person who wants to date other trans individuals, was used to wrap up the caption.
Martin came out as non-binary in 2021, whilst Page came out as a trans guy in 2020.
In July 2021, Page posted a selfie of the two on his Instagram with the message, “Chilling with this heartthrob 😍.” This is not the first time the couple has been spotted together.
We’re excited to see what the future holds for them both, even if nothing has been announced yet!
Page has now talked about his trans delight once again.
He posted a shirtless photo with an absolutely amazing caption.
According to Page, “dysphoria used to be particularly prevalent in the summer.”
“Just a T-shirt with no layers—or layers and I’m sweating so much that I’m always looking down and adjusting my oversized tee.”
“The joy I feel in my body is something I never thought I could experience.”
“I look forward to sharing more of my journey soon, and I am so grateful for what gender affirming care has allowed me,” he stated.
