Richard Huff’s tattoo adventure changed his life and inspired both praise and criticism from others.
Being able to express oneself is a fundamental aspect of being human. Everyone feels compelled to accomplish it in their own unique way.
Many people find that getting a tattoo is a great way to express who they are and what they believe in.
With more than 240 tattoos on his body, 51-year-old Richard Huff boldly displays his appreciation of tattooing as his particular art form.
Living with his wife and their five kids, Richard Huff is a family man who freely describes himself as a tattoo enthusiast.
Though not all of the comments are positive, his wife regularly shares pictures and videos of their family life.
Richard maintains that their family is “no different” from any other family in spite of the disparaging comments made online.
Those who criticize his appearance on social media have made fun of him.
Richard revealed that his experience with tattoos began at the age of 17 as a hobby and progressively developed into an addiction.
He started by tattooing his legs before gradually working his way up his torso. He now thinks that tattoos cover over 85% of his body.
Meaningful items in his collection include his children’s names and even a picture of his daughter’s lips.
“It became an addiction, I started with my legs and worked my way up,” said Richard.
“I’m hoping to get completely covered in tattoos in the next four years. When you’re able to do this, it simply gets intriguing, and I’m not sure if it’s the agony or the artwork you put on yourself.”
He also admitted that there are difficulties associated with having so many tattoos.
He mentioned that his appearance makes him appear scary to some of the kids at his children’s school.
His daughter said, “They say, ‘ah, it’s a bit scary,’ and I say ‘no, my dad is not scary, he is good with tattoos.'”
Despite the misconceptions, Richard appears committed to altering the perception of persons with numerous tattoos.
Marita, Richard’s wife, said that his appearance first caused her to have some misgivings about him.
She admitted, “I did judge Richard based on his looks at first, but as I got to know him a little bit, he is actually a big-hearted person.”
Marita frequently posts about her spouse on social media, emphasizing how he treats her in a manner that no one else has ever done.
She highlights his positive traits, demonstrating that he is a loving father and husband.
According to Marita, who has three children from past marriages, Richard has done more for them than just be their stepfather.
“I participate in the PTA, I go to all my kids’ functions,” Richard said, emphasizing his involvement in his children’s everyday routines and activities.
Richard is still criticized despite his admirable qualities and his commitment as a partner and father.
The question, “I’m not against tattoos, but I mean honestly, does he really need tattoos on his face like that?” was raised in one negative response.
On the other hand, some people defend Richard.
“Everyone keeps talking about his face tattoo,” one supporter commented. He enjoys it. He understood. He’s a decent dad. Leave him alone.
Richard remarked, “If somebody can make negative comments like that, there’s something wrong with them themselves that they would have to judge somebody else,” in reference to the negativity he experiences.
“This is what we did and we’re happy,” he said, underscoring the fact that he and his family are truly content with their life decisions, regardless of what others may believe. All that counts to us is that our children are content and that we have been together for six years.”
