Dad and Uncle Found Dead as Search for Missing 7-Year-Old Boy Continues After Boat Disappeared

On Monday, Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch announced that his department would carry on with the tragic shrimping excursion that went missing in Alabama on Friday.

MCSO and its allies would search for 7-year-old Hunter Slezak for as long as possible, Burch said. While shrimping on Dauphin Island on Friday night, Hunter, his father Michael Slezak, and Sam Wooley vanished. A US Coast Guard team discovered Michael and Sam’s bodies on Saturday.

Burch stated, “I will say that we will continue as long as we are able to continue.” “And you know, I don’t plan on suspending anything until we find the boat, but some of the things that might be involved may require more specialized equipment than we have.”

The Coast Guard searched for Hunter for 65 hours over the course of the weekend, covering 2,042 square miles before calling it a day.
Burch speculated that the boy might have been trapped in the boat’s cabin when it overturned.

Despite the discovery of debris, MCSO searched all day Monday for Hunter and the boat, which has also not been found.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Dauphin Island Police Department, Marine Resource Division, and Baldwin County ALEA were among the entities that provided assistance to MCSO. Drones, a helicopter, and boating vessels were among the tools employed in the hunt.

On Dauphin Island, the hunt will resume on Tuesday.

Burch urged people to keep Hunter’s family in their prayers, particularly during the holidays.
Burch added, “I do ask anybody who sees this to pray for this family.”
