Five days after being released from jail on bail for prior drug convictions, Rosie O’Donnell’s daughter Chelsea O’Donnell was arrested a third time.
In Niagara, Wisconsin, on November 18, police stopped a car for loud exhaust, according to court papers that Us Weekly was able to get. There were two people in the car, including 27-year-old Chelsea. Chelsea had “pick marks” on her face, so the police asked whether she had any identifying information. According to the documents, Chelsea gave the officer her name and birthdate even though she was not carrying identification.
She was out on bond for drug charges out of Marinette and Oconto County in Wisconsin, the officer discovered after entering her name and birthday into his system. (Chelsea was previously charged with drug possession and child neglect after being detained in September and October.)
The officer ran her information, then sent a K9 to sniff the vehicle, resulting in a positive alert. Chelsea and the other passengers in the car were told to get out by law authorities. The trunk included naloxone, which can be used to reverse the effects of an opiate overdose.
Chelsea took a “clear smoking device” out of her bra while looking for weapons on her person. Court filings state that residue found inside the gadget tested positive for methamphetamine.
Authorities put Chelsea in handcuffs behind her back after determining that she was “argumentative” during the pat-down. Upon “settling down and cooperating,” the restraints were removed.
After being taken to the Marinette County Jail, Chelsea was searched a second time and it was discovered that she was concealing a bottle of prescription medication. Eight loose hydrocodone pills, sixteen lamotrigine pills, one whole and three half Alprazolam pills, and a clear bag with a crystal-like substance were all contained in the bottle.
Two felony counts of methamphetamine possession and one felony count of narcotic substance possession are among Chelsea’s five accusations. She also faced misdemeanor charges of possessing drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer.
Chelsea appeared in court for her October arrest a few days before to her arrest on November 18. Chelsea was required to “maintain absolute sobriety” while out on bail, which was increased to $4,000, according to documents that Us was able to get. Along with not using or carrying any illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, or controlled substances without a valid prescription, Chelsea was also required to abstain from alcohol.
Records show that Chelsea is still being held after making an appearance in court by video conference on Monday, December 2. The date of her upcoming court appearance is Thursday, December 12.
