As Melania Trump’s husband, Donald Trump, was announced as the new U.S. president-elect, an expert discussed her body language.
Trump’s victory in Wisconsin was what put him over the 270-vote threshold, although the outcome of the US election had been anticipated hours earlier when he was predicted to win the swing states of North Carolina, Georgia, and Pennsylvania.
Trump, who will be the 47th president of the United States in January 2025, walked to the podium at his campaign headquarters in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Wednesday morning, November 6, to declare his victory after the Republican Party won Pennsylvania.
“With every breath in my body, I will fight for you every single day,” he said to fans. Until we have given children the strong, secure, and affluent America they deserve, I will not stop.
“And you’re worthy of it. This is going to be America’s golden age. The number of Senate victories was just astounding, despite the fact that the campaigns were difficult.
Trump’s family, which included his wife Melania, son Barron, and daughter Ivanka, joined him on stage.
Judi James, a body language specialist, told Paddy Power Games that Melania, 54, looked “powerful” and “confident” when sharing the stage with her husband.
“Trump appeared briefly overwhelmed as he stepped out to pose upon entering the stage. James clarified, “His face appeared puckered in a moment of inner emotion as his right hand gently punched the air.”
“It was Melania, in a businesslike grey power suit and the towering Barron who flanked Trump exhibiting the body language signals of strength and support.”
Trump’s body language, according to James, made it apparent that he “seeks support and strength” from his wife, who was “promoted to a star in her own right” as she stood by him.
“Trump’s gesticulation and touch rituals with her gave the impression that he seeks support and strength from her rather than the other way round,” said the analyst.
“Melania was beaming with round cheeks of pride and delight, baring both upper and lower teeth in her smiles, while Trump chose not to do so.”
Trump congratulated Melania on her “number one best-selling book” in the United States, and the two even embraced on stage.
He turned and threw his arms out to give her a congrats embrace. Before the pair docked, there was a recognizable awkward moment as Melania answered with both hands out palms up.
James, however, claims that Melania’s placing her arm around Trump’s back was the clearest indication of her “power and confidence.”
“When Melania extended her arm to put her hand on Trump’s back and gently guide (or push) him back to the lectern, it was a clear indication of her strength and confidence,” she added.
As a last indication of Trump’s new power dynamic with Melania, Trump slid across to his wife and pressed his fingers into her hand like a young child asking its mother for comfort.
Trump will be inaugurated into office in January 2025, marking his second term in the White House.
