AOC and Others Show Up As Potential Democratic Candidates in 2028 [WATCH]

The Democratic Party is left frantically trying to rethink its future following President-elect Donald Trump’s resounding victory over Kamala Harris and the Republican Party’s landslide triumph in both the Senate and the House.

which is currently at a crucial juncture after being overwhelmingly rejected by voters in the 2024 election.

Early indications, however, indicate that the Democrats are stepping up their radical left-wing policies that have recently brought them to ruin, rather than using the time for reflection or moderation.

A number of extremist individuals are being evaluated as possible presidential candidates for the 2028 election as the party mulls over its future.

According to sources from The Hill, some of the most controversial and left-leaning politicians in American politics are among the candidates being floated, including Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, California Governor Gavin Newsom, and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

According to the outlet, Ocasio-Cortez’s ability to “cut through the BS and tell it like it is” is something that many Democrats find admirable. Ocasio-Cortez is notable for her directness, according to one Democratic strategist, who described her as “someone who can cut through the noise and doesn’t talk like Washington.” They assert that this is a feature that appeals to younger people and that she would easily interact with them through social media, podcasts, and other online platforms.

It is commonly known that Ocasio-Cortez went from being a bartender in the Bronx to becoming a prominent spokesperson for the Democratic Party’s far-left side.

Her leftist policies, particularly the Green New Deal, have garnered national attention since she was elected to Congress in 2018.

Despite having a less than outstanding record, she has become a favorite among the left-wing base due to her ability to attract attention on Twitter.

Not everyone in the party is persuaded, though. Concerns regarding her extreme left-wing ideas and the belief that she has pushed too far, too quickly have been voiced by certain party strategists.

One strategist remarked, “She and the’squad’ started pushing too hard, too fast.” That isn’t how things operate in D.C. And that’s not how our party operates. We must return to the fundamentals.

There are other radicals being considered besides Ocasio-Cortez.

Another strong candidate is California Governor Gavin Newsom, who is well-known for his stringent pandemic regulations and his prominent position in the state’s political system.

Democrats are still interested in Michigan Governor Whitmer, who made headlines around the country for her management of COVID-19 restrictions.

Other names that are being considered as possible future candidates include Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania, JB Pritzker of Illinois, and a number of other senators and governors, including Phil Murphy of New Jersey, Wes Moore of Maryland, Andy Beshear of Kentucky, and Raphael Warnock of Georgia.

Many of these numbers, however, reflect the persistence of programs and beliefs that voters have already rejected, as the Democrats continue to grapple with their identity and strategy following the 2024 defeat.

The party’s leadership appears determined to remain with the far-left agenda that has alienated a large portion of the voters rather than adopting a more moderate or mainstream position.
