Billboard recently declared Beyonce the best pop star of the twenty-first century, so she can now add another title to her list of accomplishments.
On Tuesday, the magazine revealed that Queen Bey had taken the top spot on its list of the 25 greatest pop stars, which it has been revealing progressively over the past few months.
“Since late August, we’ve been rolling out our picks for the artists who have most defined pop stardom for the last 25 years,” stated Billboard. The music and entertainment magazine noted the top choice, saying, “Beyoncé’s 25 years of timeless albums and singles, her incalculable industry impact and influence on other artists, and her unparalleled raw talents as a singer and performer were just a few of the reasons why she captured the top spot on our list.
Perhaps the most significant of all, though, was her exceptional talent for creating moments—memorable bits of pop culture history that she has produced throughout her 25 years as a superstar, all of which are, above all, distinctly Beyoncé.”
In 2003 and 2014, she was voted the greatest pop performer of the year by Billboard.
Other well-known celebrities including Lady Gaga (No. 5), Drake (No. 4), Rihanna (No. 3), Britney Spears (No. 6), and Taylor Swift (No. 2) were surpassed by Beyoncé.Jay-Z, the superstar’s spouse, came in at number sixteen on the list.
At this year’s award event, Beyonce received 11 nominations for her critically acclaimed album “Cowboy Carter,” making her the most Grammy-nominated artist of all time. Beyonce is already the most decorated Grammy artist in history with 32 wins overall.She has now received 99 nominations throughout her career.She and her husband had previously been tied at 88.
