The final contenders’ inability to respond to the last question left The 1% Club’s supporters perplexed.
Eight candidates out of 100 advanced to the final round of the popular ITV game show, when they were asked the 1% question.
In an attempt to win a piece of the £97,000 prize pool, the finalists were given the big question by Lee Mack, host of the 1% Club.
Regretfully, none of the eight contestants correctly answered the question.
A image featuring the number eight in the middle of an ice cube served as the basis for the challenging question, which only 1% of people in the UK are reportedly able to answer.
“What word is represented by this picture?” Mack questioned the participants, who had only 30 seconds to enter their responses.
“Your time has ended,” the host declared. There was a tense wait after the statement, “Let’s see who got it right.”
The red lighting in the ITV studio indicated that nobody had correctly answered the question.
After telling the disgruntled competitors, “I’m afraid you all got it wrong,” Mack revealed the answer to be “Incubate” (in-cube-eight).
When it became apparent that nobody had joined the 1% Club, the audience likewise expressed their disappointment.
One competitor did, however, take home a tiny portion of the winnings. Because Jonathan didn’t use his pass card to bypass any of the questions, he received £1,000.
“I’m sorry,” comedian Mack said to the group. Even though you were not accepted into the 1% Club, you may still leave knowing that you outperformed everyone else this evening.
On social media, viewers of the ITV game show expressed their surprise that none of the eight finalists had won. One commenter wrote on X, “Not one person got it..!”
An additional statement was made: “The wheels on the brain bus well & truly fell off.”
A third fan, however, wrote: “Oh, how unfortunate. Everyone goes with nothing at all because none of them got it correctly, with the exception of Jonathan, who keeps his £1,000.
“Never seen that many get to the 1 percentage question before, and all men and all wrong,” another commenter said. It was difficult since they were unable to identify what the object behind the eight was supposed to be.
This week, from December 9 to December 12, four new episodes of The 1% Club returned to television.
This month, the popular game show will return with its Christmas special, which will include Mack, a favorite among fans.
